A piece of lyrics in a hymn of praise that says, ‘Read the Holy Bible, pray every day, ...’ can be called a ‘Quiet Time’. Practicing a ’Quiet Time’ diligently allows you to reap the benefits mentioned in 2 Timothy 3:16. And you will grow like the well-known characters in the Bible (including Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Hosea, Amos, the Lord Jesus, Paul, Timothy, etc.) who pleased God. We all have to realize that it is not easy to get into the habit of having Quiet Time diligently every day. It is because ’the father of lies, the Devil’, will cause you to dislike reading the Bible and praying. In short, he does not like it when you have a consistent and regular Quiet Time. However, if you are faithful and diligent in your quiet time, you will gain valuable lessons, namely, you will get to know God's work and power better. You will also receive comfort in times of trouble and receive encouragement or rebuke when you sin. The Gospel of Luke says, ”he [the devil] departed from him [Jesus] until an opportune time” (Luke 4:13). Therefore, be diligent in your Quiet Time!
